Reminder: Tuesday in the Octave of Pentecost

The Heart of the Good Shepherd

Holy Mass will be offered in S. Therese' church on the 21st of June at 7pm. The Holy Gospel is from S. John chapter 10:1-10 - the beginning of the Good Shepherd discourse. Later Our Lord speaks of the one flock and the one Shepherd - an image of the union between God and man effected through the Incarnation and sacrificial love of the Son and the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit. Similar motifs such as the Bridegroom and the Bride or the Head and the body are used by Ss. John and Paul in their theology to bring out this communion with the Holy Trinity that begins at our Baptism.

May the Holy Octave of Pentecost be an occasion of purification and awareness of our high calling through the Divine Indwelling within us.

Solemn High Mass for St Joseph

God bless our Pope!

In union with the whole Church, let us give thanks to God for the election of our new Holy Father, Pope Francis.  Viva il Papa!

O God, the shepherd and ruler of all the faithful,
look down favourably upon thy servant Francis,
whom you have been pleased to appoint
pastor over your Church;
grant, we beseech You,
that he might benefit both by word and example
those over whom he is set,
and thus attain unto life eternal,
together with the flock entrusted to his care.
Through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Chartres sonne ...

If you haven't yet experienced it, the pilgrimage to Chartres at Pentecost - walking over 3 days from Paris - is one of the most beautiful experiences of the usus antiquior there is. Up to ten thousand Catholics walking and praying and singing and enjoying the French countryside. The Irish chapter is under the patronage of S. Patrick. The chaplain, the Very Reverend Michael Cahill, P.P. is a wonderful preacher and teacher of the Faith as well as confessor. To come this year (northern representation needs improving) please look at the Irish chapter's website.
